INFANT FEEDING

With over 10 years of direct experience working with medically fragile infants and children, I am confident in providing the highest level of care for my littlest patients. I specialize in helping with bottle feeding, breastfeeding, combination feeding, transitioning to solids, and tube weaning. My primary goal is to help you and your child develop positive feeding skills so you can enjoy each and every mealtime together.

ARFID/SEvere picky eating

ARFID/Severe Picky Eating can have a dramatic impact on a child and family’s life. My therapy involves child and family-centered approaches designed to improve a child’s ability to accept new foods, reduce stress at mealtimes, and learn to be confident with eating.

myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders are imbalances in the facial and/or oral musculature that may lead to challenges with feeding, swallowing, and breathing. Some common OMD’s include tongue/lip/buccal ties, tongue thrust, temporomandibular disorder (TMD), and mouth breathing. These disorders can have lifelong impacts if not addressed early on, by a skilled therapist. As a Qualified Orofacial Myologist, I have received specialty training in identifying and treating Myofunctional Disorders across the lifespan.

LANGUAGE DELAY/DISORDERS

Stone Speech Therapy provides individualized care for children who have the diagnosis of Expressive and/or Receptive Language Disorder or delay. Many times, families are encouraged to “wait and see” by their healthcare provider. For children who are showing language delay, it is important to set them up for success early on! I specialize in child-led, family-centered therapy to promote increased prelinguistic skills such as attention and comprehension, as well as increasing functional vocabulary development for communication.

Speech Sound Disorders

Speech Sound Disorders can affect how children are able to communicate with their families and peers. Children with speech sound disorders benefit from skilled therapy to help them speak their best! My goal for speech therapy is to help your child communicate easily and intelligibly, while providing motivating therapy to meet their goals.

About Jessica

IMG-4959.jpg

I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New Jersey and have been practicing for over 10 years. I completed my undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston and graduate degree at New York University in New York City. With experience working for award-winning hospital systems, I am confident in providing the highest level of care for the most fragile babies, children, and their families. I am a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM). I am Vitalstim certified, and have advanced trainings in PROMPT and Myofascial Release.

My son was born prematurely and after going through this experience I developed a whole new appreciation for feeding, postpartum support, and early intervention. I believe that being a mother to a fighter lit a fire underneath me to provide the best care for all of my patients-I see my son in all of them, and myself in the families I work with. It is truly my pleasure to help, and I can’t wait to become a part of your journey.

Testimonials

Jess has been a life-changing resource for our family-especially for our daughter, who had a feeding tube during the first year of her life. Through her knowledge, expertise, and gentle understanding of feeding challenges and NICU parenthood, Jess was not only able to support us through weaning our daughter off of her feeding tube, but also showing her how to explore and love all foods.
— Lauren (mother)
Jessica was my first speech therapist who changed my life. After experiencing a severe traumatic brain injury, I wasn’t able to utter sounds, talk, or communicate at all at that time. But Jessica gave me hope that I could recover fully and stay strong! I looked forward to my speech sessions with her because she encouraged me all the time, making me feel like I was improving. Her positivity and kindness gave me hope and energy that I am forever grateful and helped me become the strong person I am now!
— Christine (patient)
You helped us so much! We don’t know what we would’ve done without you. No one could help us figure out why our 1.5 month old daughter was having so much trouble feeding (not 3 lactation consultants, a pediatric dentist, an ENT or her pediatrician). But after one session with you she was feeding from the bottle without all of the scary wheezing and crying she usually displayed during feeds. We’re so thankful for you!!
— Hallie (mother)
Miss Jess is fabulous! Our then three month old daughter has a high palate and struggled with bottle feeding. Miss Jess is flexible, supportive, and so positive. Our daughter now demands her bottles, eats three solid meals a day, and is an overall great feeder. She makes time for us if we have concerns and addresses all communication related concerns not just feeding. We have and will continue to refer Miss Jess for any speech and feeding related needs!
